Star flower EPP - progress at last!

After my initial burst of enthusiasm with the star flowers, they kinda got shoved into a bag and ignored until this weekend.

I have finally got to this stage after what felt like hours of hand stitching.

So now all I have to decide is what background to use...
Essex dyed linen in black (with triangles added in)
or...
Architextitures crosshatch (and then I don't have to sew the triangles in!)
I am erring towards the Yarn dyed. Any opinions??

  1. I like the yaern died linen, but I do think you could get away without adding the triangles if you use it also. The little "notches" give your EPP a really nice shape without evening off all the edges. Just my opinion ... It's all totally fab by the way!

  12. I agree with the others, the essex linen looks great, just applique it down to keep the flower shape of the hexies.

  16. These are lovely. I would go with the darker background and leave the triangles out.

  20. Essex, it gets lost on the Architextures and agree with the others about leaving out the little triangles

  21. It's beautiful standing out against the linen.

  22. Both options are lovely, I think I prefer the darker of the two though because it gives more contrast and shows off those extra pieces you worked for hard to make in the first place. It's going to be a tremendous finish either way though!

  23. The Essex shows the EPP better, but I actually like the cross hatch better, as it shows the colours more...
